How Equb works
How Equb works on EqubBet
An Equb (እቁብ) is a rotating savings group. Members contribute a fixed amount each round, and one share receives the full pool. EqubBet keeps the tradition exactly as it is and adds a clear, shared record.
A cycle, round by round
Set the rules together
Contribution per share, how often you meet, grace periods and how draws are approved. Members accept the rules before the cycle starts, and any later change needs their consent.
Collect contributions
Each round, every active share owes its contribution — including shares that have already won. The treasurer records and verifies each payment.
Collection complete
When every contribution is verified, the round is ready. The administrator schedules the draw and every member is told when and where.
Live draw
Only shares that have not yet won are on the wheel. The server seals the winner, the wheel reveals it, and the administrator confirms.
Approve and certify
Required members e-sign the result. A certificate with a verification QR code is issued when everyone has signed.
Pay out and roll over
The treasurer records the payout, the winner signs a receipt, and the next round opens automatically.
Multiple shares, done right
One share wins. The others stay in the draw.
Fatima holds three shares. When Share 002 wins, only that share leaves the draw — Shares 003 and 004 stay eligible, and all three keep contributing until the cycle ends.
